The Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi, has said the Agency is prioritizing quality assurance to ensure durable road maintenance across Nigeria.
Engr. Agbasi disclosed this when he hosted the management of Tectonics Engineering Group in his office during the week.
“During the week, I received Engr. Dr. Aisha Kawu Gombe, FNAEGE, Group CEO of Tectonics Engineering Group, and Olusegun Olatunji Ola, Group Manager, Equipment, Laboratory Development and Management,” Agbasi said.
Speaking on his administration’s focus, the FERMA boss stressed that lasting results remain non-negotiable.
According to him, “A key priority for FERMA is ensuring that road maintenance interventions deliver lasting results. This requires stronger quality control and quality assurance systems at every stage of project execution, backed by reliable testing and technical capacity.”

He revealed that the meeting explored concrete steps to boost the Agency’s technical capacity.
“We examined opportunities to strengthen the capacity of FERMA’s existing laboratories nationwide and introduce mobile laboratories to extend testing services to project sites,” he stated.
Agbasi expressed optimism that the initiative will transform FERMA’s operations, adding that “These improvements will support better quality assessment, more informed technical decisions and greater sustainability of recovered road infrastructure.”
