The All Progressives Congress, APC, has inaugurated its National Campaign Council for the Osun State Governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026, with the party leadership vowing to deliver a “resounding victory” in the state.
The National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, led members of the National Working Committee, NWC, to inaugurate the Council on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Yilwatda said the inauguration marks the commencement of the party’s coordinated efforts to secure victory in Osun.
“The distinguished members of the Council have been carefully selected based on their proven experience, commitment and capacity to deliver results. I have no doubt that they will work tirelessly with all stakeholders to ensure a successful campaign,_” he said.
The APC Chairman charged members of the Council to remain “focused, united and disciplined” in carrying out their responsibilities.
He said the campaign must be “issue-based, people-centred and reflective of the values of the APC,” while taking the party’s message of good governance, development and the Renewed Hope Agenda to every community across Osun State.
Prof. Yilwatda called on all APC members, supporters and the people of Osun State to rally behind the party and its candidate ahead of the poll.
“With unity, hard work and the support of the people, we are confident that the APC will once again emerge victorious,_” he stated.
He concluded with prayers for the party, the state and the country: “_God bless the APC, God bless Osun State, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria._”
The Osun governorship election is one of the key off-cycle polls ahead of the 2027 general elections. INEC has fixed August 15, 2026 for the exercise and declared full readiness for the poll.
