A seven-year-old artist identified simply as Kendis has received a ₦2.5 million cash gift and a full scholarship up to university level from Ogun APC governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI.
The gesture came after Kendis’ hand-drawn portrait of the senator went viral on social media and drew widespread admiration.
Senator Adeola announced the reward on his official X handle on Monday, describing the boy’s work as an “exceptional display of talent and creativity.”
According to the senator, the scholarship will cover Kendis’ education from primary school through to university, while the cash gift is to support and encourage his artistic development.
The portrait, which captured Senator YAYI in detail, sparked reactions online with many Nigerians commending the young artist for his skill at such an early age.
Senator Adeola said the donation is part of efforts to support and nurture gifted children in Ogun State and across Nigeria.
