The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027 and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress Youth Wing have agreed to a strategic collaboration to mobilize voters at the grassroots ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The agreement was reached during a strategic stakeholders’ engagement in Abuja between the movement’s national leadership and the APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Dayo Israel, and his team.
Speaking at the meeting, National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027, Hon. Comr. Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, described the engagement as “a convergence of purpose” aimed at securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all APC candidates in 2027.
“We are not a social media movement. The Internet is already saturated with campaign voices. We went in a different direction and that direction has taken us straight to the heart of Nigeria,” Asuku said.
He outlined the movement’s structure, noting that it has Zonal Coordinators across all six geopolitical zones and State Coordinators in all 36 states and the FCT. At the ward level, he said, five “Crusaders” are deployed per ward to engage directly with voters.
“These are locals, living among peasant farmers, traders, hunters, and community members who ride bicycles, listen to transistor radios, and rarely leave their communities. These are the Nigerians who vote, and our Crusaders reach them daily, building a real-time database of prospective Tinubu voters across all 774 Local Government Areas,” he said.
Asuku credited the movement’s founding to its Grand Patron, High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, “who built this movement with his own resources, without a single kobo of government funding, driven purely by patriotism.”
He said the movement has a “strong hold” in the North West, South West, South East, and North East, and acknowledged challenges in the South South and North Central due to insecurity. He called for joint programming with the APC Youth Wing at national, zonal, state and ward levels.
The coordinator also proposed community-rooted campaign initiatives including Community Compact Signing, Dawn Knock, Unity Torch Relay, People’s Handprint Wall, and Lanterns and Listening.
He linked the push for a second term to the administration’s reforms, citing fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange unification, NELFUND, the Electricity Act, tax reforms, the Consumer Credit Scheme, and Local Government Financial Autonomy. “These reforms deserve a second term. Nigeria deserves it. And together, we will deliver it,” he said.
In a post-meeting interview, APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel said the party’s youth structure was ready to “hold hands” with the movement.
“I’ve come to see for myself all the great things I’ve heard about PBAT Door-to-Door and I’ve seen today that this is a reputable support group that we would like to be associated with and we would like to work with,” Israel said. “We have agreed at the meeting today that we’re going to collaborate strongly with the PBAT Door-to-Door… to ensure that we can deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in this coming election.”
Israel highlighted the administration’s achievements in education, infrastructure, and energy, including the absence of ASUU strikes, student loans, and the Dangote Refinery. He said the collaboration would focus on taking “the message of the present transformation” to communities and reminding Nigerians of the government’s gains.
“On behalf of my colleagues and I, my deputy national youth leader and the zonal youth leaders of our party, we would work with them including our state leaders who have joined hands by the grace of God with PBAT Door-to-Door to deliver for the president,” he added.
On the forthcoming Osun State election, Asuku, in a separate interview, expressed confidence in the APC’s chances. “APC is on ground to win the election. When you look at that, the most popular candidate in the show will definitely be a man,” he said.
The engagement signals an intensification of APC’s grassroots mobilization efforts as political activities build toward 2027, with both groups pledging to combine the party’s youth structures with the movement’s door-to-door network to drive voter engagement nationwide.
