The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will face no opposition from Northern Nigeria in the 2027 presidential election, citing what it called verifiable results from his Renewed Hope Agenda in security, pensions, and rural development.
In a press statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, the group said the resolution followed extensive consultations with traditional leaders, political analysts, youth coalitions, agrarian unions, and civil society actors across the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to AYAGL, the endorsement is based on “patriotic governance, equitable distribution of federal patronage, and the strategic elevation of outstanding Northern administrators into national leadership.”

The group highlighted four Northern appointees and their reported impact as central to its position:
– General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) — Minister of Defence: AYAGL credited Gen. Musa with spearheading inter-service coordination that led to the destruction of major terrorist hideouts, bandit camps, and insurgent logistics corridors in the North-East, North-West, and North-Central. The group also pointed to a historic welfare review under his watch that raised minimum military pay to N100,000 and delivered a 30% to 80% salary increase across all ranks

– AVM Abubakar Idris Adamu Abdulraheen — Chairman, Military Pensions Board: The assembly said the retired Air Vice Marshal eliminated payment delays and “ghost-pensioner” vulnerabilities at the MPB. Veterans now receive direct electronic disbursements of pensions and gratuities, restoring “dignity and financial security” to retired officers

– Malam Nuhu Ribadu — National Security Adviser: AYAGL stated that Ribadu has re-engineered Nigeria’s intelligence architecture through enhanced intelligence-sharing and targeted anti-sabotage operations. The group said his efforts have crippled financial pipelines of violent non-state actors, crude oil thieves, and bandit syndicates.

– Abba Abubakar Aliyu — MD/CEO, Rural Electrification Agency: Under Aliyu, the REA has deployed off-grid solar mini-grids and rural electrification projects across Northern communities. AYAGL said the push has powered small businesses, improved cold-chain storage for farmers, and created tens of thousands of jobs for Northern youths while reducing rural-urban migration.

“Unshakeable Verdict” for 2027
President of AYAGL, Alhaji Danbature Abdul, said leadership should be measured by “results, empathy, and institutional performance.”
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proven beyond doubt that the security, economic integration, and human capital development of the North are central pillar priorities of his administration,” the statement read.
The group advised political figures “nursing sectional or divisive ambitions within the region for 2027 to align with the prevailing consensus of the people.”
“Northern youths will not lend their strength to political speculation or fragmentation. The North stands resolute, organized, and united in its determination to ensure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu proceeds unopposed across our region in 2027 to consolidate these monumental achievements,” AYAGL concluded.

The statement positions Northern youth groups firmly behind Tinubu ahead of political realignments for the 2027 general elections, framing security reforms and infrastructure delivery as the basis for continued support.
