NNPP chieftain, Buba Galadima, has said he cannot guarantee that the 2027 general elections will be free and fair.
Galadima spoke on Friday during a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today anchored by Seun Okinbaloye, where the chances of NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in 2027 came under scrutiny.
Responding to a question on whether the 2027 elections will be free and fair, Galadima said:
“Because if you are dealing with criminals and fraudsters like these ones we have, you can’t be sure of anything. Only God, only God and Tinubu knows what will happen to this election.”
The discussion later shifted to the presidential ambition of NDC candidate, Peter Obi, and his chances in Northern Nigeria in 2027, especially with the Atiku factor.
Asked if Peter Obi would find it difficult to make inroads in the North this time around, Galadima suggested that Peter Obi and NNPP leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, complement each other.
“Peter Obi may be more conversant with issues in Anambra more than Kwankwaso and Kwankwaso may be conversant with certain issues in Kano more than Peter Obi. So they complement each other in every move,” he said.
Galadima added that the plan is not to run a divided government.
“And that is what we intend to do because we are not going to run a divided government of one belonging to Kwankwaso, one belonging to Peter Obi. No, we are running a Nigerian government,” he stated.
