The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi, has inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the 1.3km Suleja-Bwari Law School Road in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
The project, funded through the Sukuk bond, is part of the Federal Government’s intervention to improve federal road infrastructure across the country.
Agbasi, who led the management team of the agency on the inspection tour, described the road project as a reflection of the Federal Government’s commitment to road infrastructure development under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The FERMA boss, who shared details of the inspection via his official Facebook page under the “MD On The Road” series, said the agency remains focused on its mandate of rehabilitating and maintaining federal roads to ensure durability and serviceability.
He noted that the Suleja-Bwari Law School Road is a critical link road serving motorists, students and communities within the FCT and Niger State axis, and its rehabilitation will ease traffic flow and improve connectivity.

While reiterating FERMA’s commitment to sustaining federal roads, Agbasi appealed to motorists and host communities to desist from practices that accelerate road deterioration.
According to him, responsible use and proper care of federal roads are crucial to preserving government investments in road infrastructure.
“While FERMA continues to rehabilitate and maintain federal roads, I urge motorists and host communities to avoid practices that accelerate road deterioration. Responsible use and proper care of our roads are essential to preserving these investments and sustaining their serviceability,” Agbasi stated.
The inspection comes amid renewed efforts by FERMA to monitor ongoing Sukuk-funded projects and ensure quality delivery in line with the agency’s mandate.

The Federal Government has continued to deploy Sukuk funding for critical road projects nationwide as part of measures to bridge the infrastructure gap.
