The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has described the ongoing Chief Association of Senior Police Officers Conference, CASPO 2026, as wonderful and impactful, saying his initial fears about national security and the 2027 elections have been allayed.
IGP Disu said the quality of lecturers at the conference was impressive, adding that what warmed his heart most was the presence of retired police officers ready to share their experiences.
“We have two retired police officers here as well. And they have been talking to us,” he said, noting that discussions have centered on issues bordering on national security and most importantly, the 2027 elections.
He singled out a retired Inspector General of Police, Usman Al-Khali baba, who he said brought his experience to bear, recounted what happened in 2023 and offered solutions and advice to participants.
According to him, the former IGP advised everyone to go back home and recreate the experience in their respective domains.
“So far, so good. The lectures have been wonderful, stimulating, very didactic and educative and the officers are happy to have been here,” IGP Disu said.
He also commended the conference partner, Lender Consult, for its support in organizing the event.
“For our partner, the Lender Consult, they have been wonderful, beautiful. You can look around, see the beauty they have been able to generate. And most importantly, they have been able to assist to put the programs together so far so good, no hitches. And we look forward to it continuing this way,” he added.
