The Renewed Hope Labourers Network, RHOLAN, has tackled the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Alhaji Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, over his recent claim that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has failed Nigerians on security, describing the statement as false, misleading and deliberately blind to verifiable facts on the ground.
The cross-party political movement, in a strongly worded statement issued on Tuesday by its Director of Public Affairs, Comrade Toby Prince, said Baba-Ahmed’s assertion was a selective political narrative aimed at discrediting the massive operational gains recorded by the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies under the Tinubu administration.
RHOLAN said the PRP Chairman deliberately ignored official figures from the Defence Headquarters which clearly show that the security situation has improved significantly in the last two years, contrary to the picture of total collapse painted by Baba-Ahmed.
According to the group, Defence Headquarters data confirms that over 3,000 terrorists and bandits have been neutralised, more than 120,000 insurgents and their family members have surrendered to troops, and over 2,000 kidnapped victims have been rescued in sustained operations across the country in the past two years.
The network stated that to claim President Tinubu has nothing to show on security in the face of these verified figures is not only uncharitable but also an insult to the gallant troops who risk their lives daily to restore peace across troubled communities.
“Mr Baba-Ahmed’s claim that children cannot go to school because of bandits is outdated and misleading. Data confirm that troops have degraded terrorist and bandit capacity, reopened previously controlled territories, and enabled the gradual return of normal life, including schooling, in many affected communities,” the statement said.
Providing a further breakdown of recent successes, RHOLAN noted that in the third quarter of 2026 alone, troops of the Armed Forces neutralised 554 terrorists and criminals, arrested 1,333 suspects, rescued 1,736 kidnapped civilians and forced 333 insurgents to surrender.
The group said these figures are not mere propaganda but operational facts that can be verified from Defence Headquarters briefings and reports from theatre commanders.
The Renewed Hope Labourers Network further highlighted several strategic measures taken by the Tinubu administration to strengthen the security architecture, including the establishment of Defence Special Forces Brigades in Kaduna and Niger States, the expansion and rejigging of Operations Hadin Kai and Fansan Yamma, and the massive recovery of thousands of illegal firearms and rounds of ammunition from criminal elements.
It noted that as a result of these measures, farmlands, markets and major highways that were once no-go areas have now been reopened, with farmers returning to their farms and commercial activities picking up in several communities in the North West and North East.
On the Abuja-Kaduna highway specifically cited by Baba-Ahmed as an example of insecurity, the group said the road is no longer the death trap it used to be, pointing to increased security outposts, joint military and police patrols, improved surveillance and the ongoing concrete pavement reconstruction being executed by the Federal Government as evidence of renewed government presence and control.
“The Armed Forces have restored security situations in key flashpoints. Communities that lived under the constant threat of abduction are gradually reclaiming their lives. To pretend otherwise is to insult the gallant troops who risk their lives daily and the families of those who have paid the ultimate price,” Prince stated.
“Baba-Ahmed’s attempt to paint a picture of total collapse while ignoring mass surrenders, large-scale rescues and the reopening of schools in several northern states is pure political mischief. The facts on the ground contradict his narrative,” he added.
The movement also referenced President Tinubu’s recent marching order to security chiefs to rescue all remaining abductees and ensure that no terrorist or bandit camp remains anywhere in the country, describing the directive as a clear demonstration of the President’s resolve to completely degrade criminal groups.
RHOLAN maintained that the administration’s combination of kinetic military operations, expansion of elite special forces, deployment of advanced surveillance assets and community engagement strategy has produced measurable and sustainable results that cannot be wished away by political opponents.
The group vowed that as a cross-party movement committed to defending truth and national progress, it would continue to put verified facts in the public domain and counter any attempt to diminish the sacrifices of security personnel.
“Those who claim the President has nothing to show on security are either living in the past or deliberately choosing blindness for political convenience. Over 3,000 neutralised, over 120,000 surrendered and thousands of victims rescued are not failure. They are evidence of a government that is fighting and winning,” the statement continued.

“The Renewed Hope Labourers Network stands firmly with the Armed Forces of Nigeria. We reject any attempt to diminish their sacrifices and achievements. Security is being restored, communities are returning, and the trajectory is clear for those who care to look at the facts,” Prince concluded.
News Century TV reports that the debate over the security performance of the Tinubu administration has continued to generate reactions from political stakeholders, with RHOLAN insisting that the Armed Forces have surpassed expectations under the current administration.
