The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), Benue State Chapter, has applauded the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Patrick Moro, for demonstrating exceptional leadership through the donation of 100 motorcycles to security agencies across Benue South Senatorial District to strengthen efforts in combating insecurity.

Speaking in a telephone interview with our correspondent on *3rd August, 2026* the Chairman of the CRPP in Benue State and Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Comrade Simon Ogbe, described the intervention as timely, patriotic and a practical demonstration of leadership at a time when many communities in Benue State continue to face violent attacks.
According to Ogbe, Senator Moro has consistently been one of the strongest voices in the National Assembly, repeatedly calling on the Federal Government, the Benue State Government and all relevant authorities to take decisive steps to end the persistent killings and displacement of innocent citizens. He noted that the senator has now backed his advocacy with concrete action.
*”Senator Abba Patrick Moro has consistently spoken out against the worsening insecurity in Benue State and has continuously called on governments at all levels to live up to their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property. On the 1st of August, 2026, he demonstrated that true leadership is not only about making speeches but also about taking action. Moro has truly walked the talk,”* Ogbe said.
The CRPP Chairman stated that the donation would significantly enhance the operational capacity of security agencies, particularly in accessing remote communities where criminal elements often take advantage of difficult terrain to carry out attacks.
He further noted that the gesture sends a strong message of solidarity to both security personnel and the people of Benue South.
*”By this singular act, Senator Moro has shown that he shares in the pains of our people. He has identified with the victims of these senseless attacks and has also encouraged the men and women risking their lives daily to defend our communities. This is the kind of leadership Nigerians expect from their elected representatives,”* he added.
Comrade Ogbe stressed that security should never be viewed through the prism of politics, emphasizing that criminal elements do not discriminate based on political affiliation.

*”Security is everybody’s responsibility. The killer herdsmen do not ask whether their victims belong to the APC, NDP, Labour Party, APGA, ACCORD, APP, ZLP or any other political party before attacking them. That is why all political actors must unite in the interest of peace and security. As the saying goes, the strength of the broom is in unity.”*
While commending Senator Moro, Ogbe challenged other elected officials, political office holders, wealthy individuals and corporate organizations to emulate the Senate Minority Leader by supporting ongoing efforts to secure lives and property.
He maintained that government at all levels must move beyond issuing statements of condemnation after attacks have occurred and instead adopt proactive measures that prevent such tragedies.
“Action speaks louder than words. The primary responsibility of every government is the protection of lives and property. Governments must stop waiting until communities have been attacked before visiting victims, making donations or issuing condolences. Prevention is far better than reaction, and our people deserve to live without fear,” he said.
The CRPP Chairman also charged the security agencies to immediately deploy the motorcycles for intelligence gathering, surveillance and rapid response operations across vulnerable communities.
*”We believe our security agencies are equal to the task. These motorcycles should be put to immediate use in flushing out the killer herdsmen and every other criminal element terrorizing our land. The people of Benue deserve peace, and we believe this intervention will strengthen ongoing security operations.”*
Responding to those attempting to politicize the donation, Comrade Ogbe said such criticisms were misplaced and unhelpful.
“Rather than criticizing Senator Moro’s noble gesture, those playing politics with the security of our people should emulate him. This is not the time for partisan arguments but for collective action. We will not allow anyone to play politics with the blood of innocent Benue people. Enough is enough. The people are watching.”
