The NDC Vice Presidential Candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Sunday warmly received a delegation of All Progressives Congress, APC, defectors from Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State who have officially joined the NDC Kwankwasiyya Movement.
The decampees were received at the former governor’s residence on Miller Road, Kano, where they pledged their loyalty and unwavering commitment to the movement and its vision for a better Nigeria.
Speaking during the reception, Sen. Kwankwaso described the defection as a reflection of the growing confidence of Nigerians in the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya Movement. He urged the new members to remain united, disciplined, and focused on grassroots mobilization ahead of future political engagements.
Leaders of the delegation said their decision to leave the APC was driven by Kwankwaso’s track record of service, inclusive leadership, and commitment to education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment in Kano and across the country.
They assured the NDC leader that Madobi LGA would work to strengthen the movement’s structures at the ward and polling unit levels.
The NDC Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by Sen. Kwankwaso, has in recent months recorded a wave of defections from the APC in Kano, with party faithful citing dissatisfaction with the current administration and alignment with Kwankwaso’s political philosophy.
