President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Abuja for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave, the Statehouse announced on Saturday.
According to a press release signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President departed on August 30. His first stop will be London, United Kingdom.
The statement described the trip as part of his yearly break, but noted it will also serve as a “working vacation.”
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the three weeks. On his return, he will immediately join preparations for the “hectic campaign” ahead of the January 2027 general election, Onanuga said.
The announcement comes as political activities begin to pick up across the country, with parties and candidates positioning early for the 2027 polls.
The Presidency did not provide further details on other countries the President may visit during the trip
