President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted brother, partner and patriot whose life has been defined by service to Nigeria.
In a birthday statement released on Wednesday, Tinubu said he rejoiced with Shettima, his wife Nana, children, family and political associates on the milestone. The President praised the Vice President for a distinguished career that spans banking, two terms as Governor of Borno State, and his current role as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Tinubu commended Shettima for demonstrating courage, diligence and compassion in public office, noting that his leadership has been marked by an abiding commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians. He particularly acknowledged the Vice President’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and his unwavering support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
As Chairman of the National Economic Council, the President said Shettima has provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration between the Federal Government and sub-nationals. Tinubu also highlighted Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, saying these qualities have helped strengthen good governance.
The President described the Vice President’s loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty as invaluable to the administration, and thanked him for his steadfast partnership in delivering on campaign promises to Nigerians. He expressed confidence that working together they will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of their dreams.
On behalf of the Federal Government, Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah will continue to guide, protect and strengthen Shettima, and grant him wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to the nation.
