The Executive Chairman of Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, was celebrated on his birthday by staff, business associates and the leadership of CEOAFRICA and the Geneith Health Competition (GHC) team, with calls to prioritize the fight against malaria in Nigeria.
The celebration took place at the company’s headquarters, where Chief Umenwa was welcomed with cheers and tributes honoring his visionary leadership, commitment to staff welfare, healthcare development and philanthropy.
Prince Cletus Sunday Iloabanafor, Managing Director of CEOAFRICA and initiator of the Geneith Health Competition, led the GHC team in joining Geneith staff for the event.
Speaking during the ceremony, Prince Iloabanafor described Chief Umenwa as a distinguished leader in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector.
“Chief Emmanuel Umenwa is a beacon of excellence whose contributions to the pharmaceutical sector have saved countless lives and elevated standards of healthcare delivery,” he said.
He commended Umenwa’s journey from entrepreneurship to becoming a prominent industry figure, noting that his leadership has been defined by courage, innovation, integrity and a strong commitment to improving access to quality healthcare.
As Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, Chief Umenwa brings over two decades of experience in the industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Lagos. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors and an active Rotarian.
His service has earned him several recognitions, including the Pillar of Pharmacy Award from the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Branch, and the National Outstanding Leadership Performance Award from the National Association of Polytechnic Students.
Chief Umenwa also serves on the boards of organizations across the telecommunications, hospitality and pharmaceutical sectors.
Under his leadership, Geneith Pharmaceuticals has supported anti-malaria campaigns, health awareness drives and medical support initiatives across Nigerian communities. The Geneith Health Competition and other advocacy programs have further boosted community engagement and health literacy nationwide.
Geneith Health National Coordinator, Pharm Blessing Ghensel, also praised the chairman, describing him as a great leader with a strong passion for youth development and quality healthcare for all in Nigeria.
In his response, Chief Umenwa thanked staff, associates, industry stakeholders and well-wishers for their prayers and goodwill messages. He pledged to remain committed to excellence, integrity and service to the Nigerian people.
Making a special birthday appeal, he urged Nigerians and healthcare stakeholders to make malaria eradication a national priority.
“The best way to celebrate my birthday is to join the fight against malaria and let us make Nigeria a malaria-free nation,” he said.
